FWISD Prevention & Crisis Response Newsletter for Parents
Hello Everyone,
Information on COVID 19 screening and testing that was advertised yesterday in the Inside FWISD announcement. I’ve attached the flyers that should have most of the information. Please feel free to pass along. Drive thru testing is available after the telehealth/screening visit. See VCFK Parents COVID 19 FWISD attachments for drive thru locations. I’m working on getting the $50 cost for self-pay students covered and integrated into the registration process. I’ll send out an update when this is in place.
Brief Description: Fort Worth ISD has partnered with Virtual Care for Kids to provide telehealth services. Students will be able to virtually connect to a Texas based pediatrician for immediate care for ailments such as minor colds, the flu, sore throat, cough, ear concerns, headaches, sinus or allergy issues, or pink eye. Video visits are easily accessible from their laptop or desktop computer, iPhone, Android phone or tablet. Summaries of the visit will be sent to the student’s Primary Care Physician(PCP), and there is no need to change the student’s current PCP. Additionally, Urgent Care for Kids has expanded their partnership to better serve the entire Fort Worth ISD community by making screening and testing available for parents and FWISD staff. Visits are available in both English and Spanish within minutes. To register for these services, please visit https://urgentcarekids.com/fwisd/. For parents and staff, please go to www.virtualcarefamilies.com
Virtual visits are free for Medicaid families and cost $50 for self-pay families. FWISD is NOT responsible for the cost of treatment provided in this program. All costs will be paid by your health insurance company and you.
Thank you,
Ottis

Important Information On Grade Promotion And Graduation Eligibility For FWISD Students
We understand that this is a challenging time for everyone in our community. As situations develop at a rapid pace, it can be hard to keep up with the latest information. To further complicate matters, Fort Worth ISD staff and faculty have been locked out of the systems they use to function and communicate by a cyber attack.
At this time, the best source of YWLA information is the Facebook page for the Young Women’s Leadership Academy. You do not need to have a Facebook account to access this public page. To locate it without a Facebook account: -Click on the following link: https://www.facebook.com/YWLAFWISD/ -When a message box pops up asking you to Log In or Create New Account, click the words “not now” at the bottom of the box to skip this step. If you or someone you know does not have access to the internet outside of school, Spectrum is offering free internet during the school shutdown. You can contact Spectrum directly at 844-488-8398. Please refer to https://gov.texas.gov for the latest, developing information from the State of Texas. |
